Harvest Health & Recreation announced the opening of its sixth Florida medical marijuana dispensary. Harvest holds licenses in Florida for up to 35 medical dispensaries, one cultivation facility, one manufacturing facility, and has operational dispensaries in the Orlando and Tallahassee markets. Nationwide, pending finalization of recent acquisitions, Harvest will have rights to more than 210 facilities, approximately 135 of which being retail locations, in 18 states and territories across the country.

The latest Florida opening is Harvest of Gainesville, located at 3833 SW Archer Road, Suite B. Harvest’s new retail location is open Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. ET to 6 p.m. ET and will initially offer products, including vape pens and capsules formulated with CBN and Delta 8, and expects to add more in the coming weeks. Harvest’s highly trained staff will be onsite to answer questions about personalized medical cannabis treatments and products to help manage patients’ qualifying conditions.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing our high-quality cannabis products to patients in Gainesville as we continue to expand our footprint in Florida, the third most populous state in the country,” said Executive Chairman, Jason Vedadi. “We’re looking forward to opening many more of our award-winning dispensaries in order to bring premium cannabis experiences to all Floridians.”

The Gainesville store joins five existing Harvest House of Cannabis dispensaries already open in Kissimmee, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, North Port and Longwood. Florida is one of the most highly sought-after markets for cannabis operators. As of July 2019, the state had registered more than 332,400 medical marijuana patients and more than 2,390 doctors. Senate Bill 182, which amended Florida’s medical marijuana program, was signed into law on March 18th, 2019, allowing smokable forms of cannabis. Florida lawmakers have introduced bills to legalize recreational use for all residents over 21 years of age.
